Olga Prodan
Founder + President
Olga Prodan was born in Western Ukraine and has lived in Canada for five years. Olga was one of the leaders of the student-led Revolution of Dignity, and an Assistant Member and Press-Secretary Member of Parliament of Ukraine from 2017 to 2019. Olga is chief architect of the Ukrainian Canadian Advocacy Group’s rehabilitation program for the children of fallen heroes, drawing upon her work as a Somatic Psychologist and Psychosocial Rehabilitator to help these children process their trauma and make strides in their healing journey. Her dream is to establish a rehabilitation trauma centre in Ukraine for everyone that has been traumatized by Russia’s cruel war. Olga enjoys sharing modern Ukrainian culture with Canadians, and takes every opportunity to showcase Ukrainian food, technology, art, and fashion.
Adrian Petriw
Co-founder + Vice President
From the stages of Vancouver's theaters, to film and television screens, national radio ads, and the vibrant worlds of Saturday morning cartoons, Adrian Petriw has had a wide ranging career as a performer. Adrian is a proud member of the Ukrainian Canadian community and is passionate about using his platform to promote Ukrainian culture, fundraise for important Ukrainian causes, and combat disinformation. With the support of his family and mentors like Babz Chula, Kate Twa, and John Cassini, he began to work as a professional actor in his adolescence, and has since appeared in dozens of film and television projects such as the Farrelly Brother’s comedies Loudermilk and The Now, Amazon’s Upload, Sci Fi’s Van Helsing, CW's Legends of Tomorrow, iZombie, and Arrow, AMC's Hell on Wheels, and The Killing and Fox's Lucifer. Adrian is also one of Canada’s premiere voice talents, having lent his voice to dozens of major animated franchises, like Netflix’s The Hollow and The Dragon Prince, or playing Tony Stark himself in Iron Man Armored Adventures, as well as hundreds of radio, web and TV commercials. A lover of theatre, he co-founded Blind Pig Theatre in 2010, and produced or performed in many of their sold-out productions.
Iryna Kalantai
Graphic Designer
Iryna Kalantai was born in Central Ukraine and moved to Canada in 2022. She has been in graphic design for more than a decade. In Ukraine, Iryna was part of a social organization that actively ran projects such as the Ukrainian musical festival Stopudivka, and art cafes that allowed young artists to present themselves. In Vancouver, she helped a Ukrainian team launch a sushi bar VANLOVE, providing it with a visual identity and branding strategy. Iryna is inspired by the works of Ukrainian illustrators and designers and is happy to promote our modern art in Canada.
Olesia Guts
Social Media Coordinator
Olesia Guts was born in Eastern Ukraine, raised in Kyiv, and has lived all over the world, finally settling in Vancouver in 2020. An award-winning Registered Holistic Nutritionist, chef, educator, and proactive healthcare advocate, Olesia first joined UCAG as the creator of a nervous system regulation-focused nutrition program for UCAG's staple Rehabilitation Program for the Children of Fallen Heroes. Later on, Olesia joined UCAG as a social media strategist. Leveraging her journalism degree and over five years of experience managing social media for her own businesses, she now leads efforts to enhance UCAG's online presence. Olesia passionately supports UCAG’s mission, “Preserving our culture. Healing our children. Honouring our heroes,” and is committed to advancing this cause through engaging visual content, creative campaigns, and collaborations.
Sabrina Rani Furminger
Senior Advisor + Media Relations Manager
Sabrina Rani Furminger is an award-winning film industry journalist, podcaster, producer, and content creator based in Vancouver, Canada. She hosts the YVR Screen Scene Podcast and has written about the film industry for the Westender, the Vancouver Courier, and MONTECRISTO Magazine. Her work often explores the intersection between the entertainment industry and social justice issues. Through her various YVR Screen Scene For Ukraine initiatives, Sabrina has raised more than $100,000 for Ukrainian humanitarian relief. Sabrina co-owns Fish Flight Entertainment, a boutique animation and visual effects studio located on Granville Island. Sabrina is Ukrainian and South Asian and was born in Montreal.
Sasha Pobochii
Secretary + Board Member at Large
Sasha Pobochii is an actress and activist from Kyiv, who came to Vancouver in the summer of 2022 after getting accepted into the University of British Columbia. From a young age, she’s been involved in local activist movements and attended many protests in support of democracy, as well as human and animal rights. Since leaving her hometown in February 2022, Sasha has joined several groups and movements supporting Ukraine in New York and Vancouver. Apart from being a part of UCAG, she is also on the board of the Ukrainian Student Union of the University of British Columbia. Sasha works towards spreading knowledge about Ukrainian culture and history, as well as russian imperialism.
